Steadfast

I heard something today that gave me chills.
I was listening to a podcast called, The Scripture are real: S3 E57 Heroes Needed. The podcast was talking a lot about the stripling warriors.. So I’m listening in awe at the boys going to war being so young.. listening to how prepared they were in every avenue, from their skill of fighting to of course being raised in righteousness, and then this part comes next (and I just have to quote the entire part because it’s just that good) he says- Brad Wilcox- “So they’re kind of having a standoff. And I love the threat that Moroni makes in verse 12. He says, And behold, if ye do not this, I will come against you with my armies.
Yea, even I will arm my women and my children, and I will come against you, and I will follow you even into your land, which is the land of our first inheritance. Yea, and it shall be blood for blood, yea, life for life, and I will give you battle even until you are destroyed from off the face of the earth. Now, a lot of people say, boy, he must be getting desperate to arm the women and the children.
But if you think of it another way, maybe he was saying, you think my men are tough? You think these young men are tough? Wait till you see my young women.
They’ll give you a run for your money. I mean, I have to see in this, in these words, that his young women were equally valiant with his young men, that they also had been taught by their parents, and that they shared the same righteousness.”
I was blown away. I had never even looked at this story in any other way than the obvious. Now I can’t unsee what came to mind. So then of course- I began this picture.
You think these young men are tough? Wait till you see my young women.
All I could see was a young woman standing firm in her foundation, firm in her religion, firm in her beliefs, in her. Unshakeable. With the complete knowledge that her Savior was by her side protecting her. Unshakeable. In a very dark world let your light shine. Be a force for good. Do not fear the adversary. You are like the women during the time of the Stripling Warriors. Tough. Wait till you see my young women. Chills.
